Twitter Spam
If you have been browsing Twitter lately, then chances are you have probably noticed an influx of spam on Twitter. Unfortunately, these spammers are making a large amount of money by installing spyware and other unwanted items on your computer. Here are three things you should look for to see if something is twitter spam:
1. New Accounts – Spammers often create several new accounts at a time and follow the same people on each account. If a large number of people you do not know have started following you, they are probably spam accounts.
2. Constant Untrusted Links – Spammers mask their links using url shortners. If an account is sending constant links, then chances are they are spammers.
3. Hashtag Stuffing – Generally spammers try to stuff their tweets with trending topics so that more people can browse their accounts.
These are three general common methods spammers use to try to get you fall for their tricks.
