Twitter Cleaning Up Hacked Accounts

It happens all to often- a hacker figures out an easy password and steals someone’s account for their own personal gain. Twitter has announced today that they are going through accounts to clean up as many hacked accounts as they can possibly find. The twitter security team also wanted to remind its’ users about password security. Here are a few tips you should know:

- Always use a complex password over a simple password. The most common passwords are “password” and “abc123.” Make your password unique and a combination of numbers and letters.

- Do not give your twitter password out to anybody, even people saying they are staff members of twitter. No staff member will ever ask you for your password.

- Change your password regularly. The best thing you can do is to change your password every month. This will keep potentially hackers on their toes.

These are just a few steps you can take to prevent yourself from getting hacked. Protect yourself so that you do not become the next victim of a hacker on twitter.
