I read Hacker News religiously. It’s an amazing community of assorted types, all interested in startups and technology. Quite often, people ask for help, such as I did a week ago when I asked for reviews of TweetingMachine.

After a recent offer of help, members of the HN community have been working out what they themselves can individually offer to the other members. This has spawned a whole host of incredibly helpful threads, including front-end development, GUI design help, Ruby on Rails advice, CV/Resume critiques, advice on SEO strategies, and even tax help for startups!

It’s always amazing to watch a community of people pull together, and if you’re not already a member of Hacker News, I’d strongly recommend that you take a look, and if it’s something you like then join in – there’s a huge wealth of information and support to benefit from.
